Police discover marijuana during Johnson City domestic assault call

A domestic disturbance has led to the discovery of more than 11 ounces of marijuana by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

According to police, officers responded to 3569 Greenwood Drive on a domestic assault call at about 1:35 Thursday afternoon. Officers learned the assault was spurred by an argument over drugs, and received consent to search Jason Steven Crain's home and vehicle. They found about 11.2 ounces of marijuana in the vehicle and drug paraphernalia in his residence.

Crain, 32, was arrested and charged with domestic assault, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule VI drugs for resale. He is held in the Washington County Detention Center and scheduled for a bond hearing on Monday.
