Learn more about the Weekend College at an information session to be held April 18 from 5:30 until 7 p.m. at the SVHEC.
In the Weekend College program, participants can complete a four-year degree that was started years ago or complete a four-year degree after recently obtaining an associate degree from one of the area's community colleges.
Weekend College is specially designed for adult students who have already earned 45 to 60 transferable college credit hours from a regionally accredited institution.
Students have the benefits of attending class full time with the convenience of a part-time schedule. Students take one highly concentrated interdisciplinary course at a time, two each semester for two years, and two summer sessions to complete the 10-course requirement for graduation.
Because the program has a full-time student status, students can qualify for scholarships and loans.
Weekend College is a great option for adults wanting to improve their career opportunities. Many employers seek individuals with a liberal arts degree, which provides a broad educational background that focuses on writing, analyzing, evaluating and reasoning. In addition, the University of Richmond's Weekend College program will help corporations develop leaders who are trained in problem solving and conflict analysis.
