Kingsport and Sullivan County schools on spring break through March 30.

Sullivan County Library Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. at the Blountville library.

Washington County Commission will meet at 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Washington County Courthouse, Jonesborough.

Kingsport Bluebird Society will hold its annual meeting at 7 p.m. in Room 239 at the Kingsport Renaissance Center, 1200 E. Center St. Dr. Fred Alsop, an ornithologist with 40 years experience and professor of biological sciences at ETSU, will speak.

Washington County Commission work release committee will meet at 9 a.m. at the Detention Center, Jonesborough.

Kingsport Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for Preston Place II at 10 a.m. at 2303 N. John B. Dennis Highway, Kingsport.

Rogersville Park and Recreation Commission will hold a special called meeting at 10 a.m. at Rogersville City Hall, 106 E. Kyle St. The agenda includes considering rules and regulations of the skate park.

Washington County Library, Jonesborough, will offer story time for children 3 to 5 at 10 a.m. and for children 18 to 35 months at 11 a.m. with the theme "Har-E Hoppin' Tales."

Downtown Kingsport Optimist Club will meet at noon at the Americourt Hotel. Club member George Cole, a local artist, will demonstrate painting techniques.

Sullivan County Commission insurance committee will meet at 6 p.m. at the Sullivan County Courthouse, Blountville.

Scott County School Board will meet at 6 p.m. in the school board office conference room, 261 E. Jackson St., Gate City.

Sullivan County Democratic Party will hold a county convention for reorganization at 6 p.m. at Sullivan Central High School, Blountville. Officers will be elected, the 2007 agenda will be discussed, precincts will be organized, and ideas about future plans discussed.
