HARROGATE, Tenn. - Pam Moon will replace Judy Beal as vice president of enrollment management and student services at Lincoln Memorial University on March 5, the university announced Friday.

Beal, who has served the university for 18 years, announced several months ago that she would be retiring.

"On behalf of the LMU Board of Trustees, faculty, staff and students, I want to thank Judy Beal and her family for their many years of service to Lincoln Memorial University and to this community," said LMU President Nancy B. Moody. "Though Judy will no longer be with us on a daily basis, her work and influence will live on in the many students' lives she has touched during her journey here."

"My upcoming retirement is a two-edged sword," Beal said. "I will greatly miss LMU, the students, staff and faculty and the exciting times that prevail at the university. On the other hand, my husband, Len, and I will have a great deal of time to pursue our many hobbies of hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, golfing and traveling."

Moon comes to LMU with over 24 years of experience in student services at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Baptist College of Health Sciences, both in Memphis. Moon had many roles at UT from 1982 through 1999, including director of student life, assistant vice chancellor for student life, and assistant vice chancellor for student affairs.

In 1999, Moon was recruited to become the dean of student services at Baptist College of Health Sciences.

In the past eight years Moon developed both the Division of Student Services and the Division of Admissions and Retention at Baptist.

"Throughout my 24-year career in student services, I have always strived to make a positive difference in the lives of students. I am extremely fortunate to have found a true calling and purpose in the profession of student services administration," Moon said. "I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to serve as the next vice president of enrollment management and student services at Lincoln Memorial University. I look forward to contributing to the further growth of the university, as well as to the continued success of the students."

Moon graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a bachelor's degree in communications and psychology. She earned her master's degree in counseling and student personnel services and her doctorate in higher education from the University of Memphis.

"Not only does Dr. Pamela Moon have some phenomenal experience in student services and enrollment management, she got that experience at universities with highly successful medical and allied health programs. LMU is particularly fortunate to have someone with her experience at the helm of student services as we prepare to admit the first class of medical students to the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in August 2007," said Moody.
