Fields has 19 years of banking experience in the Tri-Cities with both community and regional bank organizations. He began his financial services career in 1989 with Tri-City Bank as a branch manager, and then moved into regional sales management in 1994. He comes to TriSummit from Branch Banking and Trust (BB&T), where he most recently served for the past two years as vice president responsible for sales and service leadership.
Fields holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from East Tennessee State University, and is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Georgetown University, and the Southeastern School of Banking at Vanderbilt University.
Fields serves on the board of the March of Dimes Appalachian Division. Past community activities include service on the Johnson City Red Cross Chapter board of directors, volunteer work for Junior Achievement and United Way of Bristol TN/VA and membership in the Rotary Club of Bristol.
The organizational office of TriSummit Bank, located at 1999 East Stone Drive in Kingsport, plans to open this quarter.
Weekley named executive director

KINGSPORT - Nada Weekley has been hired as executive director of the Literacy Council of Kingsport.
Since moving to Kingsport in 1991, Weekley has worked extensively with the United Way and United Way agencies, including serving as executive director of Contact Concern and Girls Incorporated. She has served as director of finance for Girls Incorporated and director of resource development and campaign for the United Way of Greater Kingsport.
Most recently, Weekley was director of development for the Girl Scouts of the Appalachian Council, Inc.
Weekley is active in the community, and has served on the Keep Kingsport Beautiful Council, Leadership Kingsport Council, and Fun Fest committee. She is a graduate of Leadership Kingsport.
She is a Rotarian, and serves as president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals - Mountain Empire Chapter.
Weekley holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Georgia College. She and her husband, Everson, live in Kingsport.
McGlasson joins Suzuki Talent Education

KINGSPORT - Catherine McGlasson has joined Suzuki Talent Education of Appalachia as violin instructor, beginning in the fall semester of 2007.
Sukuki Talent Education of Appalachia is a nonprofit organization founded in 1967, which provides music education and instruction in violin and piano to students ages 3 to adult. The Suzuki Method was developed by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki in Japan following World War II and is dedicated to the principle that every child can learn and experience success in music.
McGlasson was a resident of Lexington, Ky., for many years where she was violinist in the University of Kentucky Collegium Musicum, The Center for Old Music in the New World, the Christ Church Cathedral Chamber Players and the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra.
She moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., in 2001, and formed a private violin studio, served as artistic director of St. Petersburg Suzuki Strings, has played with the Florida West Coast Symphony, Florimezzo, and is active as a recitalist in the area.
McGlasson received bachelor's and master's degrees in music from the University of Kentucky, studied with Peter Schaffer and Peter McHugh, concertmaster of the Louisville Orchestra, trained with Shinichi Suzuki in 1976 in Matsumoto, Japan, and did additional study at the University of Illinois with Paul Rolland. She was instructor of strings and orchestra conductor at Berea College and was founder and director of the Suzuki Violin program at Midway College.
She began teaching for Lexington Talent Education as violin/viola instructor in 1972. She has taught Suzuki violin and teacher-training courses in the U.S., Canada and France. She also holds degrees in piano and harpsichord.

KINGSPORT - Jerry Charlton of Town & Country Realty has successfully completed the Realtor e-PRO course to earn the certification offered by the National Association of Realtors.
The certification course is designed to provide real estate professionals with the technology tools needed to assist consumers in the purchase or sale of a home. The course is presented entirely online and certifies real estate agents and brokers as Internet professionals.
