JONESVILLE - A Lee County soldier who was wounded in Iraq on Tuesday is still under observation but improving, his mother said Friday evening. PFC James Ingle, 22, suffered a concussion and lacerations when a roadside bomb exploded next to his vehicle while he was on patrol with three others in Sadr City.
Tammy Ingle said her son called late Friday and could talk only briefly. "He was still weak, and he's beat and banged up and still under observation. They are just basically watching him. I only got to talk to him for a couple of minutes, but I was glad to get to talk to him. I appreciate everybody's concern. It really showed us people do care. He's had many prayers going up for him," she said.
Ingle was deployed to Iraq in October with the U.S. Army's 2nd Infantry Division based in Fort Carson, Colo.
