RICHMOND - The Virginia House of Delegates Republican Caucus has elected 1st District Delegate Terry Kilgore, R-Gate City, to serve as their caucus chairman. "I am honored that my colleagues elected me to be their House Majority Caucus chairman. I look forward to supporting Speaker (William H.) Howell and Leader (H. Morgan) Griffith as we present an agenda that will address the many challenges facing Virginians. Building on the accomplishments of past Chairman Delegate (R. Steven) Landes, I promise to work as hard as I can to promote common-sense solutions for our citizens," Kilgore said. Kilgore will assume his leadership responsibilities today when the 2007 Virginia General Assembly convenes in Jamestown. He will serve as the leader for the 59-member caucus and will lead the effort to protect the Republican majority in the House of Delegates in this November's elections. Kilgore represents Scott County, Lee County and parts of Washington and Wise counties.
