Kingsport crash collects three vehicle, sends one on its side

KINGSPORT — A three-car collision on a residential street sent one vehicle onto its side Friday afternoon, but no serious injuries were sustained in the incident.

The crash occurred at about noon at the intersection of Watauga Street and East Sevier Avenue. According to Kingsport police, the driver of a Toyota was heading east on Watauga with the right of way. Meanwhile, a Volkswagen traveling north on Sevier failed to stop at a stop sign.

The VW struck the passenger side of the Corolla, sending it onto its side. The Toyota then rotated through the intersection, coming to rest against the front end of a Honda Accord.

The driver of the Corolla was transported to a hospital for treatment of injuries that are not life-threatening.

The Volkswagen driver was cited with failure to yield.
