UPDATE: Teen with autism found safe in Kingsport

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office reports that Austin Hurd, 15, “has been found safe in Kingsport.”

According to a Wednesday afternoon press release, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing teenager with Autism, who wandered from his home in the Cooks Valley area of Kingsport.

Austin Hurd, 15, was last seen by his family at 10:30 a.m. He is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall and 132 lbs, with blue eyes and reddish blonde hair.

The SCSO is actively searching for Hurd at this time. He is a part of Sullivan County’s Project Lifesaver program, however it is unclear whether he still has his tracking bracelet on.

This is the second time this summer that Hurd has wandered off from his home.
