JOHNSON CITY — U.S. Rep. Phil Roe is getting married on Saturday, the congressman has confirmed.

He is marrying Clarinda Jeanes, who was married for more than 40 years to the late Milligan College President Don Jeanes. Roe’s wife, Pam, passed away about two years ago.

Roe, during a conference call with reporters, indicated he was sweating Congressional matters that might delay his return to the First Congressional District this weekend.

“I (told leadership) ‘You may be having a vote, but you may be planning to have it without the doctor. He’s got a little appointment Saturday afternoon at Munsey United Methodist Church,’ ” Roe, a retired physician, said. “Clarinda and I are very fortunate to have bumped into each other.”
