Police issue second call for info on missing Kingsport man

Staff report • Jul 17, 2019 at 11:55 AM

KINGSPORT — Investigators are still seeking a Kingsport man who was reported missing nearly three months ago.

On May 1, the Kingsport Police Department issued a press release about Joshua A. McConnell, 22. It stated that on April 20, McConnell’s brother contacted police to say that family hadn’t seen his sibling in a week. That’s when McConnell was dropped off at a convenience store near the intersection of Fort Henry Drive and North Eastman Road, where he allegedly was meeting an unknown individual from Bristol.

On Wednesday, the KPD announced that there are no new developments in the case and that McConnell is still categorized as missing. Due to information shared with investigators about McConnell’s personal and medical history, police believe there is legitimate cause to be concerned for his health and welfare.

Anyone with information on McConnell’s whereabouts is asked to call the KPD at (423) 229-9429 or (423) 246-9111. McConnell is described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing roughly 140 pounds and having black hair and blue eyes. At the time of his last point of contact, he is believed to have been clothed in black baggy shorts, a black T-shirt and black skateboard shoes.
