Hawkins sheriff investigating apparent murder/suicide near Bulls Gap

BULLS GAP — The Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an apparent murder/suicide with two deceased that took place in the St. Clair community near Bulls Gap Friday evening.

Around 6:54, the HCSO received a call of shots fired at 2007 Walter Drive, Bulls Gap.

Upon their arrival, deputies reportedly found a 34-year-old woman with a gunshot wound.

The woman was transported to Hawkins County Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

A man with a gunshot wound was also found on the scene and was pronounced deceased.

HCSO Chief Deputy Tony Allen stated in his report that the case is being investigated as a murder/suicide with the male being the shooter.

As of press time Friday, the names of the deceased hadn’t been released pending notification of family members.
