On Saturday, 59-year-old Brad Hager told Hawkins County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Michael Allen that his son, Brandon Bradley Hager, had entered their residence on Liberty Hill Church Road in Bulls Gap, and broke two decorative ice skates off the wall.
Brandon Hager, 37, then allegedly got up in his father's face with the blade of the ice skate and said, "If you don't give me the truck keys I'm going to kill you."
When the father pulled out his cell phone and attempted to call 911, Brandon allegedly took the phone away from him, struck him in the head several times and threw him him over a chair onto the floor.
"Brandon then told him if he tried to leave he was going to kill him," Allen stated in his report. "(The father) advised that his son then left the room, and he left the house and ran to his neighbor's house where he called 911. While he was at the neighbor's house Brandon left with the victim's truck."
Sunday afternoon the father called Allen and stated he'd located his truck a few miles from his home, and his son had returned home.
Brandon Hager was arrested at his home and charged with theft over $1,000 and domestic assault. At the time of his arrest Brandon Hager was free on bond from a previous arrest for domestic assault which took place Nov. 5.
He was arraigned Monday on the new charges and ordered held without bond. Both cases are now on the Jan. 14 Hawkins County Sessions Court docket.
