— A man told police that as he traveled on Highway 66, a driver in front him slammed the brakes in an attempt to cause a collision. He then followed the car onto Forest Hills Road. The other motorist allegedly stopped, exited the vehicle and fired a gun toward the complainant, spurring him to flee. A suspect was not immediately identified.
— A woman reported passwords to her Facebook accounts had been changed, while her emails were being routed to a different address. She suspected one of her stepchildren was responsible.
Kingsport Police Department
At a Lynn Garden thrift store, a woman loaded a rocking chair into her BMW sedan, then drove away without paying for it. Through surveillance footage and license tag information, a suspect was identified but not immediately located.
Police responded to Westside Inn due to “a nude male running in the parking lot.” Though the suspect could not be located, his girlfriend at the scene accused him of using meth for several days, hitting her in the head with a two-liter bottle, breaking her cell phone and slicing her finger with a kitchen knife.
Officers were again called to Westside Inn, where the same woman was in the breezeway screaming for help. According to her account, her boyfriend had returned, forced entry into her room and assaulted her again. A brief search found him in a wooded area across the street. He was arrested on multiple charges, including aggravated assault.
A woman reported that while pulling out of a parking spot at Walmart the previous day, a vehicle almost backed into her and she blew her horn. The car then followed her onto Fort Henry Drive and the occupants flipped her off. The following day, she was back at Walmart to visit an employee. The same vehicle allegedly followed her into the parking lot, and two females exited the car and spat on her windows. A photo of the suspect vehicle’s license plate was given to police.
