An employee told the Times News at the scene that the vehicle pulled up and the driver began to order his meal when the SUV started smoking badly.
But the smoke quickly turned into flames.
“It just kind of took off,” the employee said.
Workers got the other cars in line backed up and called 911.
No injuries were reported.
The fire occurred around 3:30 p.m.
Firefighters were able to knock down the flames quickly and prevent the building from igniting, but the awning, menu and window area were damaged.
The Times News will update this report as more information becomes available.
