Cody Todd Lane, 27, 322 Archcrest Street, Kingsport, was identified by a co-defendant as one of three men who participated in the March 21 break in at a N. Zion Hill road residence in Surgoinsville.
On March 22 Christian Romines, 23, 1209 Fairview Ave., was discovered at a Kingsport motel by the KPD and Surgoinsville Police Chief James Hammonds with some of the stolen property.
Romines reportedly admitted to serving as lookout for Lane and Joseph Gibson during multiple recent Hawkins County burglaries.
Gibson is reportedly in Virginia on unrelated charges with a hold from Hawkins County.
Lane was turned over to the HCSO Tuesday by the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office to face charges including theft over $60,000, two counts of aggravated burglary, and vandalism.
The victim stated he left is home at 10 a.m. and returned around 2 p.m. to find the house had been rummaged through, and an antique coin collection missing along with 16 large ammo cans filled with rolled coins.
A cedar chest was also missing, and that chest was recovered with Romines in the Kingsport motel, along with part of the coin collection and other stolen items.
Lane was arraigned Wednesday in Sessions court, and as of Thursday remained held in the Hawkins County Jail with no bond set.
