KINGSPORT – The Kingsport Police Department is searching for an Abingdon man who went missing earlier this week.

The man – Aaron Seth Duncan – was reported missing by his mother and he was last seen in the Model City Tuesday morning.

According to a KPD release, around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Duncan became agitated while riding in a vehicle with his mother. He then jumped from the vehicle on East Stone Drive near the intersection of Brookside Drive and walked away.

Duncan’s mother told police her son is of diminished capacity and that she has guardianship over him. She further explained that he suffers from mental and medical conditions requiring medication, though he does not have these medications with him currently and she does not when he took them last.

The KPD release states Duncan’s family has had some intermittent communication with him since he walked away, leading them to believe he may have returned somewhere in the Southwest Virginia area.

That has not yet been confirmed and he has not yet been physically located, KPD reports.

Duncan is a white male adult, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing 138 pounds. He has short brown hair, brown eyes, and a mustache and goatee. He was last seen wearing dark gray pants, a red hooded sweatshirt, and black Converse athletic shoes.

Anyone who sees him, knows his current whereabouts, or has any information whatsoever that may assist with finding him is asked to contact the KPD Criminal Investigations Division at 423-229-9429 or call Kingsport Central Dispatch at 423-246-9111.
