Three people have been injured after a wanted man fled an attempted traffic stop in Kingsport and wrecked into a utility pole.

According to a press release from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred at about 11:30 Wednesday morning. On Blackmore Street, an SCSO deputy spotted a vehicle driven by Daniel Skeens, 19, and containing two passengers. Skeens reportedly has active felony warrants in Sullivan County.

The deputy attempted a traffic stop but Skeens allegedly fled at a high-rate of speed. In the 1700 block of nearby Granby Road, Sheens wrecked into a pole, injuring himself and two passengers.

Though the SCSO categorized injuries as "major," all three individuals are expected to recover. They were transported to Holston Valley Medical Center for treatment, while an investigation is continuing with charges are pending.
