Tina Williams, Robert Brewer, Brad Colburn, John Angelopoulos, Chris Sampson and Kenneth Lowe probably don’t know each other, but they all went down in local golf lore for making aces on the busy weekend.
Graysburg Hills Golf Course in Chuckey was the site of the gems by Williams and Brewer. Williams holed out on the 102-yard third hole on the Chimney Top nine. She used an 8-iron for a shot witnessed by playing partner Chris Salyers. Brewer’s ace came with an 8-iron on No. 8 on the Fodder Stack nine, playing 152 yards. He was playing with Scott Kelley.
Colburn and Angelopoulos made their aces at Crockett Ridge in Kingsport. Colburn’s came at the second hole, playing 118 yards, and he used a 52-degree wedge. His witnesses were Madyson Colburn, his daughter, and Chris Mosher. Angelopoulos’ ace was his first in 60 yards of golfing and came on the sixth hole. He hit a 7-iron from 157 yards out while playing with Bo Hickman, Randy Humphries and Jason Otto.
Sampson and Lowe’s aces came at Johnson City Country Club. Sampson aced the 138-yard second hole with a pitching wedge, a shot witnessed by Kacey Hambrick. Lowe’s hole-on-one came on the seventh hole, playing 132 yards. He used a 7-iron for a shot witnessed by Tony Wilhoit, Steve Fox and Randy Clay.
