Saturday’s events focused on a competition horse show at the southwest corner of the fairgrounds, which was also the location where famed Oklahoma “horse whisperer” Dr. Lew Sterrett performed three shows.
The fairgrounds reopen Sunday at 9 a.m. with a revival scheduled to begin at the amphitheater around 10 a.m., and regular fair activities to start after the service at around 11:30 a.m.
The featured event Sunday is Dr. Sterrett’s “Sermon on the Mount,” which is a Christian-themed horse training program that is expected to last about two hours. The 2018 Hawkins County Fair closes Sunday at 3 p.m.
