“The songs and the way the show is put together will capture the greatest era of rock,” said bassist, vocalist and emcee Derek Dansforth. “You will relive what being at a rock concert used to be like.”
The Devonshires have been playing together for 18 years.
“We have toured and performed with the biggest artists in the world from the era we represent: Joe Cocker, The Doobie Brothers, Bad Finger, Paul Revere and The Raiders, The Temptations, Rick Derringer and Edgar Winter, Bad Company, Uriah Heep, Thin Lizzy, Cheap Trick, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner- Eddie Money, Cyndi Lauper, B- 52’s, Joan Jett, Rick Springfield,” Dansforth said.
The guys have played in cities across the country, including San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Chicago, Nashville, Memphis, Indianapolis, Louisville, Atlanta, Orlando and New York City, just to name a few.
They play familiar songs that people of all ages can recognize and enjoy.
“We take a lot of pride in only performing the music and vocals to perfection of the original recording as it was played in the studio with the intensity of the original artist,” Dansforth said.
Their set list includes music by The Beatles, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, Led Zeppelin and others. The Devonshires perform two shows — a “Classic Rock Spectacular” and “America’s Favorite ’60s Show.” In Kingsport, they will play a ’70s style arena rock show, but Dansforth said they always pull a few selections from their ’60s repertoire. He said they never know what they’ll play till they see the crowd.
“Imagine the power of The Who, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple combined with quality of Paul McCartney and ELO’s best material all in one night from one band designed in one unique original-style show,” Dansforth said. “That’s The Devonshires.”
Band members are Ian Buckingham (lead vocals, acoustic guitar, percussion), Winston Salem (keyboard, vocals), Carter Dane (drums, percussion), Frederick Bartholomew (lead guitar, vocals) and Dansforth.“We are the most original cover band you will ever see,” Dansforth said.
