A different activity will be held each day for three age groups. Artists will be able to take home their creations a week after making them. Each work must bake and cool before going home.
Registering is not necessary but helpful. To register, go to www.brushstrokesnmore.com. There is a $10 payment to hold a spot, which is then subtracted from the total cost upon attending the session. All times at 10 a.m. are for ages 6 to 12. All events will be held at the Brushstrokes N’ More studio building at 1001 E. Stone Drive, Kingsport.

Under the Sea is the theme of the session at 10 a.m., Monday. For $25, each child will learn how to blow color bubbles and paint ceramic fishes to create an under the sea adventure. At 2 p.m., doodle time begins, when attendees 13 to17 will get to paint what they want on a piece of pottery. The cost for this is $30 per participant.
Tuesday at 10 a.m., kids can express their love for Angry Birds when they get to paint their own version of one. The cost is $30 per child. At 2 p.m., those 18 and older will learn how to do Silk Screening, a more advanced form of ceramics. The cost is $55.
Wednesday at 10 a.m., there will be a Snack Attack. Children will paint a cupcake-shaped dish along with decorating and eating cupcakes. The cost for this event is $25 per person. At 2 p.m, attendees 13 to 17 will get to express their love for peace and harmony by using imaginative ways to create peace symbols on plates. Cost for this is $30 per person.
And on Thursday at 10 a.m., children will enjoy Sprinkles, when the they get the opportunity to create an ice cream bowl of their own design. Kids also get to eat some ice cream with sprinkles provided by Marble Slab. The cost for this is $30 per child. At 2 p.m., there will be another session of Silk Screening for ages 18 and older. It is $55 per participant.
All materials are provided by Brushstrokes N’ More, and the paint used is non-toxic. Parents do not need to stay with their children during any of the events.
Brushstrokes N’ More is the only pottery company in the city. It plays host to parties and provides activities for kids of all ages. There is a 15 percent discount for home-schooled participants all the time.
A different activity is scheduled at the building each month, such as “Daddy and Me” night. The pottery company also has paired up with the Humane Society. When a customer brings in a donation of dog food, their studio fee is waived.
