Contra Dance in Jonesborough
The Historic Jonesborough Dance Society will host a contra dance at 6:30 p.m., July 6 at the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center. A half-hour workshop for beginners will start at 6 p.m. Performing will be Eel House from Alaska, with Anne Marie Walter as the evening’s caller. Admission is $7 for the general public and $5 for HJDS members and full-time students; family package is $15. Rascals’ ’80s Bash
Rascals will host its second annual ’80s Bash Fundraiser at 7 p.m., July 19 at 125 Cumberland St., Kingsport. Cost is $10 per person. The event will feature a full cash-only bar, and food will be provided by local businesses for free. Dress in your favorite clothes from the 1980s and dance to music by DJ Ashley Hill. All proceeds go to Rascals, a non-profit organization for teens.
TN Dancers’ Monthly Social
The TN Dancers will host their monthly social on July 27 at the Jonesborough Visitors’ Center. Dance lessons for couples and line dancers will be held from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by an open dance from 8 to 10 p.m. Admission is $6, or $4 for students. Light dinner refreshments will be served. SingleVision Program and Dinner
First Broad Street United Methodist Church’s SingleVision will host a dinner and a music program with John Powers on July 8 in the church fellowship hall. Powers, who is the choir director at Kingsley United Methodist Church, will share songs written by his grandmother. Carole Hubble will accompany Powers. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $6. Preston Hills Singles Cinema
Preston Hills Presbyterian Church, 4701 Orebank Road, Kingsport, sponsors a singles group that meets for a free movie the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. SingleVision Sculpture Walk Tour
First Broad Street United Methodist Church’s SingleVision will host a tour of the Sculpture Walk in downtown Kingsport followed by dinner at Chef’s Pizzeria on July 22. Those interested in going should meet at 6 p.m. in the Kingsport Public Library parking lot to join host Bonnie MacDonald with Kingsport’s Cultural Arts program.
