Gretchen Wilson, Dustin Lynch and Easton Corbin round out the 2013 festival’s main stage entertainers, announced at a press conference Thursday at the Appalachian Fairgrounds.
“This year we have another great entertainment lineup that should be pretty appealing to a lot of people in the area, a very broad spectrum,” said WXBQ program director Bill Hagy.
Fair organizers are expecting a big crowd for Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard, better known as the white-hot country duo Florida Georgia Line. The opening act for Florida Georgia Line’s show on Thursday, Aug. 22 is Clara Dunn, who will take the stage at 7 p.m.
Florida Georgia Line, winner of the Academy of Country Music’s New Artist of the Year and New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year awards, are currently touring with Taylor Swift’s “The Red Tour” and Luke Bryan’s “Dirt Road Diaries Tour” in support of their Triple Platinum-certified, Republic Nashville debut album “Here’s to the Good Times.”
Florida Georgia Line has performed on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “LIVE with Kelly & Michael,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and “Fox & Friends,” and presented at the 2013 Billboard Music Awards.
“A lot of people will recognize the name, but everyone will recognize the song ‘Cruise,’ which also had a contemporary version with rap star Nelly,” Hagy said.
To date, “Cruise,” combined with the Top 10-and-climbing (Top 40 Charts) remix featuring Nelly, has sold more than 4 million downloads. Their current single, “Round Here,” is Top 30-and-rising at Country radio.
Fair organizers are also excited about the Aug. 23 concert featuring “Redneck Woman” Wilson. Brinley Addington will open the show at 7 p.m.
“On Friday night this year, we’re going back a little bit with an artist that several years ago kind of burst on the music scene,” Hagy said. “She toured with some of the big-name acts of the time, and everyone will recognize her signature song. She is the original ‘Redneck Woman.’ She’s going to be here on Friday night, and we’re expecting a huge crowd for that.”
Up-and-coming country stars Corbin (“A Little More Than That,” “Roll With It,” “Lovin’ You is Fun” and “All Over the Road”) and Lynch (“Cowboys and Angels” and “She Cranks My Tractor”) will open the Main Stage concert series on Aug. 19 and 20, respectively.
Camp, a Dove Award-winning recording artist. will share songs from his latest album, “Reckless,” when he performs Wednesday, Aug. 21.
Closing out the fair on Aug. 24 will be Dailey & Vincent, the pairing of music veterans Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent. The Grammy-nominated, three-time International Bluegrass Music Association Entertainer of the Year winners released their latest album, “Brothers of the Highway,” in May after 2009’s a cappella gospel project “Singing from the Heart” and two Cracker Barrel exclusives — “Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers” (2010) and “The Gospel Side of Dailey & Vincent” (2012).
All main stage shows start at 8 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
Reserved seats are $8. Grandstand seating is free with fair admission of $8 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-11 when accompanied by an adult.
