Do you have a way with words? If so, here’s your chance to put your skill to use for a good cause.

The Thirteenth Annual Savvy SCRABBLE® Social - Game Night Fundraiser to benefit the Literacy Council of Kingsport will be held Friday, March 8, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, located at 161 E Ravine Street in Kingsport.

The fun-filled evening is a night of letters for literacy featuring SCRABBLE®, hors d’oeuvres, prizes and bidding on an array of silent auction items. There will also be door prizes throughout the evening.

Silent auction items include a necklace from Diamond Exchange, Symphony of the Mountains season tickets, pottery and carved wooden bowls, a P. Buckley Moss print framed by Up Against the Wall Gallery, several golf outings, tickets to various area attractions and more.

Check-in and social time begins at 6 p.m. with the first round of play at 6:30 p.m. There will be up to three rounds of bracketed play followed by a championship round. Prizes will be awarded to players.

There are several ways to participate in the Savvy SCRABBLE® Social.

* Participants can sponsor a table and field a four-person team of players.

* Participants can register to play as individuals.

* A “gaze and graze” option is offered for those who don’t plan to play, but want to visit with friends, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, and bid on an array of silent auction items.

For more information and to register, call the Literacy Council at (423) 392-4643.
