BLOUNTVILLE — Sullivan County Director of Schools Evelyn Rafalowski didn’t have to go far to find the new principal of Sullivan North High School.

Josh Davis, principal of Sullivan North Middle housed in the same building as North High, will be the new principal of the high school, she told the Board of Education at its Monday night meeting. Davis replaces Brent Palmer, who left as North High principal to become high school curriculum and instruction supervisor in the central office.

North, South and Central high schools are to cease to be high schools when the new West Ridge High School opens off Exit 63 of Interstate 81 in the fall of 2020. North has been bought by Kingsport City Schools to become a city middle school, while Central and South are to become county middle schools.
