KINGSPORT — On Oct. 28, the 8th Grade Library Club held its Book Celebration.

Students shared book reviews about the books that they read for the celebration, created spooky bookmarks and played Kahoot! based on questions from all the book reviews of the required reading for the celebration.

The students had a choice of seven different books to read for the Book Celebration; each of them had a paranormal theme. The Library Club is open to any 8th grade student, and meets before school on Thursday mornings. Students discuss books that they are reading, give advice to the librarian about possible book purchases, help organize and set up book fairs and help lead literacy projects. The Book Club also often receives a free copy of a new books to read, and then members spend time discussing that specific book selection. Most of the books the club uses are donated by First Book.
