Sullivan North High School receives first place in food drive competition

KINGSPORT — Sullivan North High School received first place in the Second Harvest Food Drive competition, which included 10 area high schools.

A total of 3,329 pounds of food was collected by North students, which averaged 6.61 pounds per student.

In addition, Sullivan North won first place in the food drive skit sponsored by WJHL-TV Newschannel 11. The results for both competitions were announced live on TV, Oct. 7. Organized by the school's Student Council, the food drive was a success because of the support of the students, community, Hardees of Bloomingdale and Kroger.
