Times-News seeks entries for Cookie Cutter Christmas contest

Who has the best Christmas cookies? It’s time to find out with the return of our annual Cookie Cutter Christmas Contest!

Dust off your Christmas cookbooks, start searching through your best Pinterest “pins” and enter your favorite cookie recipe for a chance to win.

Email your submission to [email protected] no later than midnight, Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Your entry should include:

• Name of the recipe/​cookie

• Complete list of ingredients

• Detailed, step-by-step instructions for making them

• Your name

• A daytime phone number

• Email address

• If your cookie recipe is not an original recipe, please be sure to include the source

In the recipe round, the cookies will be judged on creativity and holiday appeal.

The finalists will be notified on Friday, Nov. 20 and asked to bake two dozen of the cookies and bring them to the Times-News office on Tuesday, Dec. 1 (any time between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.) A panel of judges will do a taste test to make the final decision.

The finalists taste-testing round will be judged on taste, texture, appearance and holiday appeal.

The three winners will be featured on the front of the Times-News Food section on Dec. 16.

First place will receive a $50 Food City gift card and one free entry to Speedway in Lights. Second and third places each will receive a $25 Food City gift card and one free entry to Speedway in Lights.

ALL recipes will be featured online at TimesNews.net on Wednesday, Dec. 16, in a cookie cookbook just in time for your holiday baking!
