Kingsport salon to offer free haircuts to first responders on 9/11 for third year

Staff Report • Sep 9, 2018 at 3:00 PM

KINGSPORT — Hair Benders Salon will offer complimentary haircuts to the region’s first responders on Tuesday, Sept. 11.

Local police officers, firefighters, paramedics and emergency medical technicians are invited to bring their appropriate ID to the salon to receive a haircut by a professional stylist at no cost between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. the day of the event. Appointments are encouraged but not mandatory and can be made by calling (423) 378-4247.

Hair Benders Salon co-owner Hollie Taylor said she “knows firsthand the countless hours that first responders spend away from their families and the danger sometimes involved in their line of work.” She hopes the men and women who serve and protect the community will take advantage of this opportunity.

Co-owner Shelia Ferguson said, “We are truly blessed to live and work in a community where we feel safe. We’ve enjoyed providing a day of pampering to honor those who make Kingsport a wonderful place to own and operate a small business and look forward to hosting the event for its third year.”

Hair Benders Salon is located at 2608 E. Center St. Information about the salon can be found at hairbenderssalon.com.
