KINGSPORT - What’s happening in downtown Kingsport this weekend?

Here’s the scoop from the Downtown Kingsport Association.

Today

HIGH VOLTAGE:

PEAK AROUND TOWN

PEAK, Kingsport's Young Professionals Organization is teaming up with another great local business here in Kingsport, High Voltage! There will be fun outdoor games like cornhole and giant jenga for all to enjoy - whether a Young Professional or not - come down & join in the fun!

Joe Bill's Kitchen will be serving up BBQ & The Fuse Box will be open for brews & boards!

101 Cherokee Street - 6 p.m.

SLEEPY OWL BREWERY:

ON THE PATIO W/ J.P. PARSONS

J.P. Parsons is a singer/songwriter from Bristol, Va.. Locals know him as “Bristol's Troubadour.” J.P.'s albums “Appalachian Travels” and “Until This Day is Done” move listeners to turn up the volume and memorize the words. He writes with purpose. Listen and enjoy.

MODEL CITY TAP HOUSE:

DONNIE & THE DRY-HEAVERS

A 3-piece band in Kingsport that jams to the blues/rock sound and everything all around. You may recognize a few of these familiar faces as they play in other bands around town, and they each bring that familiar sound to this group. Catch them at the Model City Tap House every other Thursday!

THE PICKIN' PORCH SHOW:

TENNESSEE SKYLINE

Tennessee Skyline is a traditional bluegrass band with a fresh lineup of talented and seasoned artist who are no stranger to bluegrass. With talent like G. C. Matlock, Tommy Freeman, Johnny Greer, Eric McMurray and Elizabeth Faith Snodgrass, you can bet your paycheck that this will be one to remember at The Mountin Music Museum Official!

KINGSPORT THEATRE GUILD:

STEEL MAGNOLIAS

The action is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, La., where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle , the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town's rich curmudgeon, Ouiser. Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M'Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby is about to marry a "good ole boy."

MACADO’S:

KARAOKE NIGHT

David, the epic Biblical story of a shepherd boy, called by God to be the King over God's chosen flock, the nation of Israel. With a sling and a harp, David was ushered onto a throne, but not without being tried and tested. David, the worshipful warrior, had to overcome the giant hatred of his enemies and the failings of his own flesh.

Playing together since January of of 2015, this 5 piece band is from right here in Kingsport and plays around the Tri-Cities area regularly.
