KINGSPORT -- Here’s what is happening in downtown Kingsport this weekend:

The action is set in Truvy's beauty salon in Chinquapin, Louisiana, where all the ladies who are "anybody" come to have their hair done. Helped by her eager new assistant, Annelle , the outspoken, wise-cracking Truvy dispenses shampoos and free advice to the town's rich curmudgeon, Ouiser. Miss Clairee, who has a raging sweet tooth; and the local social leader, M'Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby is about to marry a "good ole boy."

COME ALIVE - CHILDREN'S THEATRE

Step inside the fantastical imagination of a little girl named Ellie, as her inspired dream takes you on an adventure to the Land of Light! The Children's Theatre program will present a tale of love that goes beyond the common man, told through the familiar eyes of a little girl's playtime dolls. The myriad of magical characters that inhabit this allegorical tale will bring the mystery of the Gospel to life for the young and old alike!

MOMMY & ME MOTHER'S DAY TEA

Make plans to celebrate Mother's Day with your princesses and little princes at Style's Mommy & Me Mother's Day Tea. Open Door Coffee House in Johnson City will be providing the tea and their delicious waffles. This night will feature the work of Jake Quillen of The Jake Quillen Band, Logan Fritz of Fritz and Company, and Austin Barrett of The Green Fingers.
