Do you need a summer job?

KINGSPORT — Warriors Path State Park is in need of lifeguards. And to make the job a little more enticing, the park has increased the pay by nearly $2 an hour.

The pool complex is located adjacent to the camping area, just past the main gate of the park. It includes a large, fan-shaped pool, a pool house and kiddie pool — all within a fenced area with picnic tables along the perimeter.

Ideally, park officials would like to have 10 lifeguards on duty when the pool opens Memorial Day weekend. Pam Fraysier, a secretary at Warriors Path, said that as of now the park has only three lifeguards.

“We have to have at least five on the stands if we have more than 50 people in the pool,” Fraysier said.

To help fill out the ranks, Fraysier said the park increased the pay of lifeguards from $8.20 an hour to $10 an hour this year. Hopefully, that will bring in a few more lifeguards, she added.

If you’re interested in being a lifeguard at Warriors Path, you have to be at least 16 years and have lifeguard and CPR certification. For more information, call (423) 239-6795.
