KINGSPORT -- Here’s what is happening in downtown Kingsport this weekend, according to the Downtown Kingsport Association.

Today

HIGH VOLTAGE:

COLD BREWS, COLORING & CARIBBEAN GRILL

High Voltage will open at 5. Creatively color for fun and prizes! The Fuse Box is stocked with your favorite cold drinks and the corn hole boards will be out! Caribbean Grill will be jamming and cranking out their amazing Caribbean food.

MODEL CITY TAP HOUSE:

MUSICAL BINGO!

If you've never heard of Musical Bingo ... here's your chance to try out the latest craze in cities across the country! It's played exactly like traditional Bingo, except with song clips played in place of letters and numbers! Test your music IQ by determining the song title within the 20-second music clip AND find t on your Bingo Card! Prizes will be awarded to winners! See you there!

KINGSPORT THEATRE GUILD:

NIGHT, MOTHER - DINNER & A SHOW

The play is about a daughter, Jessie, and her mother, Thelma. It begins with Jessie calmly telling her Mama that by morning she will be dead, as she plans to commit suicide that very evening. The subsequent dialogue between Jessie and Mama slowly reveals her reasons for her decision, her life with Mama, and how thoroughly she has planned her own death, culminating in a disturbing, yet unavoidable, climax.

LAMPLIGHT THEATRE:

HIP TO THE GROOVE

Are you a fan of "Grease" or "West Side Story"? If so, you don't want to miss LampLight Theatre's musical romantic comedy, Hip to the Groove. This nostalgic production will take you back to a time of poodle skirts and greasers. Classic songs of the 1950's underscore this hip, reminiscent performance. JOHN MONNECKA

John Monnecka offers up a total package rarely seen among contemporary singer/songwriters. As technically skilled a guitarist and musical arranger as any great in the business, his edgy and soulful, baritone vocals may arguably be richer. From his smouldering, blues-infused, acoustic guitar work to the most gut-wrenching love song poured out as though a private confession, it is John Monnecka's passion as a live performer which defines the core of his music.

SLEEPY OWL BREWERY:

MARCUS BUNCH & DYLAN WALSHE

Marcus Bunch's (of Cutthroat Shamrock) debut solo record Heartworn Hero is a big shot of folk rock aged in a Tennessee whiskey barrell. He and Sister Sam take the stage at Sleepy Owl Brewery for a live rendition. Nashville resident, Irish singer-songwriter Dylan Walshe will join the show with his own powerful one-man set.

BEEF 'O' BRADY'S:

SAUL BROOKS BAND

Playing together since January of of 2015, this 5 piece band is from right here in Kingsport and plays around the TriCities area regularly. They describe their sound as a hybrid of rock, soul, country, grunge, and bluegrass genres, and they feature other artists frequently at their shows to always keep it fresh & fun!

CINDY SAADEH FINE ART:

RICHARD PALOMINO SHOW

One Day Only, Cindy Saadeh Fine Art will be featuring a special show from French Artist, Richard Palomino. There will be a reception to host him with live music played by Mark Mahoney, as well as hor d'oeuvres from local establishments and wine from The Wine Nook will be served.
