KINGSPORT — Here’s what is happening in downtown Kingsport this weekend as compiled by the Downtown Kingsport Association.

Today

FIRST THURSDAY:

SWEETHEART SIP & STROLL

First Thursday is always a treat - but this Sip & Stroll is extra sweet!

The Sweetheart Sip & Stroll lets you shop on your favorite day of the month - First Thursday - and reap the benefits on February 14-18th when Downtown Businesses offer special discounts and rates! Just get your receipt stamped at any business you shop at on February 1st, and show it to redeem the goodies the 14th-18th!

Downtown Kingsport - 5-8 PM

MODEL CITY TAP HOUSE:

DONNIE & THE DRY HEAVERS

The house band is back, and they will be every other Thursday Night for a session of great music you will love. They are a 3-piece band in Kingsport, TN that jams to the Blues/Rock sound and everything all around!

324 E Market Street - 7PM

THE PICKIN PORCH:

STEEL CREEK BLUEGRASS

The Mountain Music Museum is officially open, and so is their music venue, The Pickin Porch! Join them as they welcome, Steel Creek Bluegrass this Thursday Night. This 6 piece band is a local group, out of Johnson City Tenn. They describe their music as, "Good friends playing good bluegrass."

MACADO’S:

KARAOKE NIGHT

Come out to Macado's for a fun karaoke experience! In conjunction with Absolute Entertainment, they're setting up a karaoke bar and they need you to come rock the house! Grab a bite, grab a brew, and get on the rotation to sing your heart out! Not a singer? No worries! Come enjoy the talented individuals who are!

KINGSPORT CHAMBER OF COMMERCE:

ANNUAL DINNER

This black-tie optional affair with over 1,700 in attendance is a great night to celebrate the wonderful community we live in and have a great time with friends and colleagues.The public is invited to attend. Party on the Moon will headline the stage for another incredible night of entertainment at the Kingsport Chamber 71st Annual Dinner!

LAMPLIGHT THEATRE:

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS

A new Foggy Valley Gang production is prepping to hit the stage at LampLight Theatre in January with "What Happens in Vegas..." The Goodin Family and their friends have been invited to participate in "Hosanna National Talent Search." The winner of the competition will be taking home a grand prize of $10,000. And where do you think the competition takes place? Las Vegas.

SLEEPY OWL BREWERY:

THE JAKE QUILLIN BAND

Formed in the Spring of 2017, The Jake Quillin Band is a bluesy, psychedelic take on rock and soul music. Blending passionate guitar licks, mind-bending synth sounds, and a low end reminiscent of James Jamerson, the band provides a mix of high energy funk jams with smooth and soulful ballads.

CAMERON TATE

This local artist is making his rounds in Kingsport playing shows back to back and once you hear him, you'll understand why he's a crowd favorite! Cameron Tate plays an eclectic mix of covers from every decade dating back to the 1950's! As a singer/songwriter he incorporates a genuine, honest, and passionate approach that aims to connect with his audience at a personal level.

SLEEPY OWL BREWERY:

JOE BUCK

The once anti-Nashville based Joe Buck gained notoriety as the guitarist of Th' Legendary Shack Shakers. As Hank III's villainous sideman onstage, the snarling upright bass player became infamously recognizable. Joe Buck Yourself is now a bona fide evil one man band. This unique blend of hellbilly punk rock ain't your grandma's hillbilly music.
