Friday

SLEEPY OWL BREWERY:

SULPHUR SPRINGS STRING DIPPERS

Alex Ball, Ryan Bernard, and Cam Ragsdale formed the trio with the tongue-twisting name last year. With an eye on Appalachia, visions of unpaved mountain roads and backwoods vistas unfurl as their fiddle and guitar saw away with back porch precision. They play "Lee Highway Blues" with aplomb. "Richmond Blues" strikes like a dusty chapter from a dog-eared history book. No novelty about it, the Sulphur Strings String Dippers are musicians of considerable note.

151 E. Main Street - 7 p.m.

Saturday

SLEEPY OWL BREWERY:

MARK SCHIMICK

You may recognize Mark's name from his past gigs with The Josh Daniel/Mark Schimick Projects at The Owl. The group plays a fiery string band blending bluegrass, soul, reggae and rock n' roll into a style uniquely their own. Catch Mark solo as he plays his mandolin and puts his own spin on some bluegrass classics.

151 E. Main Street - 8 p.m.
