Independence on the Frontier

Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area in Elizabethton will host Independence on the Frontier June 29 and 30. The event will feature a militia inspection, artillery drill and demonstration, arrival of the Declaration of Independence, retiring of colors, worship service and more. Freedom Hall Independence Day

Freedom Hall will host the 28th annual Pepsi Fireworks Independence Day Celebration from 5 to 11 p.m., July 4. Event will feature live bluegrass and country music, food, homemade crafts and more. Visit www.pepsi-fireworks.com.

Johnson City Masonic Lodge

The Johnson City Masonic Lodge will host an Independence Day celebration from 5 p.m. until dark on July 4 at 304 W. Watauga Ave. Event will feature fireworks, hot dogs, chips, drinks and ice cream. Cost is $7 for the meal.

Bristol’s Independence Day

Celebrate Bristol will host an Independence Day Celebration July 3-5 at sites around the city. July 3: Support the White Sox Night. July 4: Parade, kids activities, petting zoo, arts and crafts vendors, Border Bash and fireworks. July 5: Car show and drive-in movie. Red, White and Beach Party

Abingdon Main Street will host a Red, White and Beach Party from 6 to 9 p.m., July 6 at the Abingdon Market Pavilion in Abingdon, Va. Music will be provided by the Abingdon Convention and Visitors Bureau and will feature The Tams with 14K Gold. Event is free and open to the public.
