Gardening workshop focuses on attracting birds, butterflies and beneficial insects

KINGSPORT — Grassy Creek Wildlife Foundation will hold a beginner’s gardening workshop, “Attract Birds, Butterflies & Beneficial Insects to Your Garden,” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at the Farmstead Museum, Bays Mountain Park.

Admission is $15 for those 15 and older and $5 for children 14 and younger. Seating is limited, so reservations are recommended. To reserve tickets, call (423) 272-5535. Take-home literature, light refreshments and door prizes will be provided.

Gardeners are invited to bring bulbs, seeds, plants or cuttings to swap with others.

The event is sponsored by Ward’s Fed Store, Kingsport, and Silver Lake Garden Center & Landscaping, Church Hill. Proceeds benefit Grassy Creek Wildlife Foundation Inc., Rogersville.
