The “Tickled Pink Survivor Celebration,” honoring breast cancer survivors, will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 6, at the Holiday Inn, Johnson City.
The event is hosted by the Susan G. Komen Tri-Cities Affiliate, presenting sponsor Mountain States Health Alliance’s Regional Cancer Center, and Komen Doctors for the Cure program donors John Lawson Surgical Group, and local surgeon, Dr. John Ehrenfried.
The affair will feature lunch and entertainment by Lisa Smartt.
Smartt travels nationally as a motivational humorist, writes a weekly newspaper column called, “The Smartt View,” and is the author of several books. Through her performance her underlying message, the importance of breast health care, is successfully communicated.
Tickets are $10 and are available for purchase by calling the Susan G. Komen Tri-Cities Affiliate office at 423-765-9313 or by visiting www.komentricities.org.
In addition to the headlining entertainment, the event will include door prizes, a photo booth, a lavish pink candy table, and a special gift for all survivors. Sara Diamond, Emmy-nominated journalist of News Channel 11, will host the “Tickled Pink Survivor Celebration” with an invocation by Gary Metcalf, corporate director of spiritual/pastoral care at Mountain States Health Alliance. Musical entertainment will include songs by vocalist TR Dunn.
The luncheon menu includes grilled herb chicken, roasted potatoes, a vegetable medley, salad and a berry mousse for dessert. Dress how you feel most comfortable, and remember: pink, of course, is always encouraged!
