Approximately 60 to 75 traditional and non-traditional works will comprise the exhibition at the McKinney Center at Booker T. Washington School in Jonesborough.
The exhibition will run May 24 through June 14. The juror lecture will take place at the International Storytelling Center at 6 p.m., Friday, May 24, and a reception will immediately follow at the McKinney Center.
This year’s juror is Stephen Wicks, who has guided the Knoxville Museum of Art’s curatorial department for 18 years. During that time, he managed the museum’s thriving exhibitions program and guided the development of its collections of East Tennessee-related art and international contemporary art.
Entries for the exhibition must be received by April 3, 2013. Both digital and original works of art are being accepted. Download the prospectus and application at www.jonesboroughtn.org.
Entries must be original works and not copied from copyrighted or published art or photographs. Qualified original work may include a variation of original work. Paintings and varied medium, photographs, sculptures and other mixed media are accepted. Open to artists 18 and older. All entries must be original works completed within the last two years. The nonrefundable entry fee is $35 for up to three works. Up to three additional entries may be submitted for $10 each.
