U.Va,-Wise offers 'Technology @ Work' for professionals

Today’s professionals are inundated with new technology. The University of Virginia’s College at Wise will offer Technology @ Work from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday, at the Southwest Virginia Technology Development Center in Lebanon, Va.
This workshop will share tips to help professionals navigate today’s most popular technologies and integrate technology into the workplace.
Participants will learn to use online collaboration tools such as Dropbox, Skydrive and Zoho project. Instructor David Hite will share strategies for virtual meetings.
Participants will acquire techniques to keep in touch with clients and customers through customer relationship management tools. Participants will learn to leverage smart-phones and tablet computers to improve effectiveness and efficiency in a cloud-based environment. The workshop will demonstrate software and hardware tools to create and manage online content for blogs, websites, YouTube, or Facebook pages.
Hite has more than 10 years of professional consulting and training experience in the areas of human resources, e-commerce, training and instructional technologies. He also presents talks on a wide range of topics such as communications, new media, instructional accessibility and online learning.
Hite serves as an adjunct professor at Virginia Intermont College and East Tennessee State University.
The tuition for the workshop is $110, which includes materials, lunch and refreshments. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required by March 8.
