Beekeepers Association meeting focuses on breeding queens

Wayne Yates will speak about his beekeeping operations and how he breeds queens during the Clinch Valley Beekeepers Association meeting at 7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 21.

The meeting will be held at the Treadway Fire Department, 189 Highway 131, Sneedville.

Yates is a certified master beekeeper and operates Bloomingdale Apiaries in Kingsport.

The Clinch Valley Beekeepers Association sees itself as a local link to issues and solutions facing beekeepers in the nation. The organization is dedicated to the preservation of the honeybee and support for the small-scale beekeeper.
