Davis will speak about her adventures on the Appalachian Trail, which include stories about lightning strikes, stalkers and world records.
Davis has hiked more than 11,000 miles of long-distance trails on six continents and currently holds endurance records on three trails. In 2011, she became the first woman to claim the overall record on the Appalachian Trail by finishing the 2,181-mile journey in 46 days, 11 hours and 20 minutes — an average of nearly 47 miles per day.
She was named Ultrarunning Magazine’s top female performance athlete of 2011 and a National Geographic Adventurer of the year for 2012. She also has written four books including her coming-of-age hiking memoir, “Becoming Odyssa.”
Davis is the owner and founder of Blue Ridge Hiking Co. She and her guides help make the trails in Western North Carolina accessible to novice hikers and experienced backpackers.
