Listing of Christmas programs at area churches

Area churches are holding a variety of Christmas programs over the weekend, free and open to the public.

-First Baptist Church, 1525 Highway 93, Fall Branch, will present “A Journey Through Bethlehem” from 6:30 to 9 p.m., Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

- Piney Grove Baptist Church, Caney Valley, will present a Christmas play at 6:30 p.m., Saturday and at 11 a.m., Sunday.

- Catron’s Chapel Church, 9387 Yuma Road, Gate City, Va., will present its annual Christmas play at 7 p.m., Saturday.

- Darthula Baptist Church, Hiltons, Va., will present its Christmas play, “Not Just Another ‘Plane’ Christmas” during the 11 a.m. morning and 6 p.m. evening worship services Sunday.

- McFerrin United Methodist Church, Church Hill, will present Christmas music, performed by the choir, and Pastor Regina Shelton will preach at 9:30 a.m., Sunday.

- Oak Glen Baptist Church, 2836 Yuma Road, Yuma, Va., will present “Country Christmas,” performed by the choir, at 10:30 a.m., Sunday, and the children’s Christmas play at 5 p.m., Sunday.

- Parker’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 437 Parker Drive, will present its children’s play at 11 a.m., Sunday and the adult play at 6 p.m., Sunday.

- Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, Fordtown Road, across from Miller Perry Elementary School will hold its children’s Christmas play at 11 a.m., Sunday and the play “This Man Jesus” at 6 p.m., Sunday.

- Shiloh Free Will Baptist Church, 21503 Benhams Road, Bristol, Va., will present the cantata, “Christmas at the Cross,” performed by the youth group, at 6 p.m., Sunday.

- Walkers Mountain Baptist Church, 23323 Mary’s Chapel Road, Bristol, Va., will present “Not That Far” at 6 p.m., Sunday.

- Friendship Chapel, 300 McKenzie Road, will hold a children’s play and candlelight service at 6 p.m., Sunday.

- Salem United Methodist Church, 230 Boozy Creek Road, will hold a Christmas cantata at 6:30 p.m., Sunday. Durham’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church will hold its Christmas play at 6:30 p.m., Monday.
