The highly popular group began their ministry together performing at the Louise Mandrell Theater in Pigeon Forge over 10 years ago. By 2007, they were honored with a number of awards including recognition by the Christian Music Presenters (CMP) Artist Endorsement and American Gospel Music (AGM) artists. An invitation to perform in a celebration of American Gospel Music at Carnegie Hall in New York City rounded out an enormously successful year. The quartet shared the stage with other prominent gospel artists, a 200-voice choir, and the American Festival Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Eric Dale Knapp.
It was also in 2007 that the group’s baritone Scott Inman was voted “Young Artist of the Year” by Singing News Magazine. The recognitions have kept coming over the years, as pianist Stice was “Musician of the Year” for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2012. Bennett has garnered the “Favorite Bass Singer of the Year” for 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. The group has earned the Singing News fans’ “Favorite Male Quartet” for four consecutive years.
In 2009, Triumphant received a GRAMMY nomination for “Best Southern, Country, or Bluegrass Gospel Album” for their release, Everyday. In addition to this year, the quartet won the “Album of the Year” by Singing News fans in 2011, in recognition of Love Came Calling. A number of the group’s singles have climbed the charts to number one.
