December 11, 2012, Johnson City, TN -- Anyone in recovery is invited to a new group recently formed as an alternative to the traditional 12-step recovery program. The group is called "Buddhism & Recovery" and meets every first and third Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Appalachian Dharma & Meditation Center (ADMC), 108 W. 10th Ave., Suite 3, Johnson City, TN.
Each meeting includes a 10-minute meditation followed by readings and discussions from books about recovery. Unlike traditional 12-step programs, this one does not require belief in a higher being. This can be an alternative or a compliment to any 12-step program. The meeting is free and completely confidential. For more information contact Tom at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The ADMC, in its second year, offers opportunities to explore Buddhism, meditation of various forms, mindfulness and much more. For more information about ADMC, visit the website www.dharma4et.org or contact email@example.com.
