Sycamore Shoals State Historic Area invites the public to the Carter Mansion on Friday or Saturday evening, or to Sycamore Shoals, for a variety of Holiday Season events.

Christmas at the Carter Mansion

Friday and Saturday, December 7 & 8

6 – 9 pm each evening

We invite you to join us for our annual Christmas event located at the historic John and Landon Carter Mansion in Elizabethton, Tennessee, the oldest frame house in Tennessee, constructed ca. 1775 by John and Landon Carter.

Christmas at the Carter Mansion is set in the late 1770’s as the Carter’s celebrate the Christmas season with friends and family. Eighteenth century re-enactors join us to share stories and create a holiday atmosphere inside the home. The mansion will be lit by candlelight, music will warm the rooms, and demonstrations inside the house will bring the late 18th century to life!

The Carter Mansion is located at 1013 Broad Street in Elizabethton.
