YULETIDE CHRISTMAS CAROLING AT HISTORIC BLOUNTVILLE, performed by Blountville Middle School Choir, 6 p.m. (immediately following the Blountville Christmas Tree Lighting), Friday, Dec. 7, Sullivan County Courthouse. Hear the joyous sounds of the Blountville Middle School Choir, a combined 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Chorus from Blountville Middle School under the direction of Darren Malcolm. This is Mr. Malcolm’s second year as the Choral Director at Blountville Middle. He is a graduate of King College in Bristol, Tenn., and received his Master’s Degree from Southern Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Mr. Malcolm has served as the Worship Pastor for the past 20 years at churches in Tennessee, Kentucky and North Carolina and is currently Director of Music at Cassidy United Methodist Church. When he is not directing music, he spends his time relaxing at his home in Piney Flats with his wife, Melissa and his four beautiful children, Annie, Will, Amelia and John Paul. He is glad to be back “home” in the Tri-Cities. The Chorus will sing a variety of Christmas songs for the Christmas Tree Lighting: Traditional Christmas carols, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Sleigh Ride, Believe from the movie The Polar Express and Mistletoe by Justin Bieber to name a few. Parade lineup begins at approximately 1 p.m. at Keystone Drive, with parade beginning at 2 p.m. The parade will end at the historic Sullivan County Courthouse.
