JOHNSON CITY – High school students hoping to secure financial aid for the fall 2013 semester are invited to attend “Tri-Cities Financial Aid Night” on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at East Tennessee State University. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and will take place in the D.P. Culp University Center Martha Street Culp Auditorium.
Information on the Tennessee Lottery Scholarship, state and federal financial aid opportunities, and completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be available.
“There are a number of options available to help fund a college education, but many of them have early deadlines,” said Haley Greenway, an ETSU financial aid counselor and one of the event organizers. “The key is to apply early, follow up, and to know those important dates and deadlines. Students who submit their application materials early are better poised to obtain financial aid.”
“We’re interested in having area students and their parents attend. The financial aid application process can seem overwhelming. This event is designed to answer many questions and to make navigating through the process easier.”
In addition to ETSU, other schools and organizations have been invited to participate. For more information, contact the Office of Financial Aid at (423) 439-4300 or email@example.com.
