Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia have plenty to offer in the way of recreational opportunities, including numerous city and county parks that give residents an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors throughout the year. Whether you're looking for a place to play or a quiet green space where you can get away from it all, chances are you won't have to look far.

The region's parks offer a wide range of activities, including playgrounds, picnic shelters, walking trails, bike paths, fishing holes, sports facilities and more. To help you make the most of the offerings, Sunday Stories is highlighting one park each week. This week's featured park is a quiet, neighborhood park in Kingsport.
